EU Innovation Policy in the Czech Republic

The European Union (EU) puts more emphasis on innovation as a key means for regaining and maintaining competitiveness, a trait it lags behind in when compared to its main global competitors. It therefore possesses a range of tools designed to support innovative activities of firms and to improve the overall environment of innovation in the European Union and Member States. This thesis outlines/describes the major milestones in the development of innovation policies in the Czech Republic and the EU and focuses on supporting innovation in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the Czech Republic via measures derived from the EU's financial tools. Special emphasis is applied to the Operational Programme Entrepreneurship and Innovation (OPIE) that in the Czech Republic is the main tool used to support innovation in firms. The main problem areas that may pose barriers to active impact for this support are identified on the basis of programme documents, assessment reports, statistical data on the programmes and qualitative information yielded from interviews with firm representatives experienced in this type of support. Marketing Tools Increasing Competitiveness of Company

This bachelor's thesis is focused on competitivness strengthening of the shopping mall Futurum Brno using selected marketing tools. Whole concept of the bachelor's thesis is aiming primarilly on the final customer, that mean on the B2C market. There is detailed analysis of the shopping center and Brno market environment done in the thesis. Based on the outputs of the analytic part, there are proposed measures that lead to competitivness strengthening of the shopping center and improvement of its position on the market.
Development of Communication for Enhancing the Competitiveness of Brand

The subject of this diploma thesis is the design development of marketing communication to enhance brand competitiveness in company focused on fast moving consumer goods. Concretely the Knorr, food brand of Unilever company. The first part provides a theoreti-cal basis for the processing of the issue. In the practical part I have assessed the current marketing communication by using inter alia SWOT, PEST and Porter's analysis. Based on analysis of the current situation, I propose to improve marketing communications, including analysis of time, costs and risk.

ICT as a Factor of Competitiveness of EU in the Global Economy (Comparative Profile of the Member States)

The thesis focuses on the information and communication technologies and their impact on the competitiveness of the EU member states. The competitiveness on the macroeconomic level is an elusive unmeasurable concept, therefore the thesis focuses on the firms operating in the EU and on their ICT utilization rates. Apart from the use of ICT and internet, the thesis compares the EU member states from the perspective of e-commerce and qualitative aspects of the use of ICT such as the degree of development of ICT sector or education in fields STEM. The thesis is based on the hypothesis that increasing level of economic development of a country is linked with increasing use of ICT.
Factors influencing the exporting competitivness of a small enterprise

This bachelor thesis deals with the position of small and medium enterprises in the czech economy. Their actual macroeconomic position and their development since 2000 are presented in the first chapter. This chapter equally presents the support possibilities offered to small and medium enterprises in the Czech Republic. In the practical chapter main factors influencing the exporting competitivness of a small enterprise are presented based on an analysis of a concrete small exporting enterprise. The focus is put especially on the production, marketing, distribution and financial management of the international trade.
Labour Productivity in the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with labor productivity and factors affecting it. Such as technological progress, education and development. Examines how various factors improve productivity and how PA affects other sectors. Furthermore, the focus on comparisons of labor productivity in the Czech Republic and European Union countries - and it seeks to draw conclusions. The work space is defined for comparison between the Czech Republic and the founding States of the European Union and then with all the countries of the European Union. Analyzes the current state of labor productivity in the CR and its impact on the competitiveness of Czech enterprises. Their ability to survive in the global market. At the same time predicts the possible future development of PP and the impact on public finances in the context of accentuated the need for reform. The aim of this work is, among others, are familiar with concepts related to the PP and the PP itself. And on the basis of these data to understand the diversity of PP in different countries and the resulting wage differences.
